Home Coming!!!

Hey Everybody!!! WE ARE HOME!!! We have been home now since last Tuesday. Mary was a fast learner and learned how to suck swallow and breath all at the same time so we got to come home early!!! Here is a picture of her right before we walked out of the hospital room. The first place that we went was to Grandma and Grandpa Lipscomb. Her first visit to Grandma and Grandpa was wonderful!! Then we stopped in Chandler to see MaMaw and Papaw Brown. They were not at home, but when we pulled into our driveway they were there to meet her. Aunt Martha and Uncle Chad had snuck over ahead of time and put a welcome home sign in the yard. Since then she has been visited by many family and freinds. Mary also had her first doctors appointment with Dr. Smith. She made an A+ at her doctors visit!! Since we have been home Daddy and Mommy have been trying to figure out how to juggle feedings, diaper changes, and sleep. I think we are coming out short on the sleep end!! We will figure it out sooner or later!! Oh the joys of parenting!! Hope all is well out there in Blog land and sorry for such a long time coming with the update. Uh Oh.... I think I hear Mary Allison calling....here I come baby girl....anything you want...:) Until next time.

SHE IS HERE!!!! WE ARE IN HEAVEN!!!

First of all I want to apologize to all of you blog followers out there. I have been quite occuppied and have not had a chance to update this blog since our precious baby girl arrived. So...I guess I will start with the day she arrived..... Wednesday, February 11, morning the doctor came into my room and said that all of my blood pressure readings were way too high and that it was time to have a baby!! Well this caught me way off guard since the doctor came by to see me everyday and the day before didn't even mention anything about the high pressures. So of course I was very excited but nervous. They wheeled me down to Labor and Delivery about noonish and started inducing.l I was in labor with contractions every 2 to 3 minutes for over six hours and was only to a 1....so the doctor comes in and says that it is stressing the baby out that she thought it was time to have a c-section. This was really bad news for me since I wanted to have the baby natural...so they gave me the option of an epideral or to be put out completely. Well of course I didn't want to miss anything so I chose the epideral. Troy came into the delivery room with me and in about 30 minutes time we had a little baby girl. She weighed in at birth at 4lbs 4oz. at 7:55pm!! It was all very exciting!!! I had it pretty tough the next couple of days because of all the magnesium they put in me....that stuff makes me crazy!! They discharged me from the hospital on Saturday the 14th Valentines Day!! Of course our baby was still in the hospital and we did not want to be far from our baby so I got on priceline.com and found Troy and I a really nice room in Dallas. The next day, Sunday, the social worker at the hospital was able to get us into the Ronald McDonald house. There were several couples who delivered their baby the same day I did that live far away that are staying at the Ronald McDonald house also. Every since Sunday we have been pretty much sleeping at the Ronald McDonald house and staying up at the hospital with Mary Allison during the day. Right now the main goal for Mary is to gain weight and strength. She has lost down to 3lb 14oz which the doctors say is normal for all babies to loose the first week. Now she needs to start gaining. She still has a feeding tube in her stomach but only uses it for every other feeds. She uses the bottle for the rest. The doctors are quite impressed with her progress. She is a fast learner!!! And spunky too!! She has the longest fingers and toes I have ever seen on a baby. Let's guess where that came from!! LOL She looks alot like I did as an infant in the face, but she does have the dimple in her chin like her Daddy too. We are sooooo very proud of her...and now for the good part...Pictures....Enjoy and until next time...I am very tired and am signing off!! Thanks for reading.

Worth The Wait

Hello Everybody....Thank you all for your comments on my blog....and your continued support through emails, texts and visits. The other day I was reading all the comments on a bulletin board that is in the family room of this floor of the hospital. It has pictures of lots of babies of whom their mothers had to be up here at Baylor for long term before they delivered for various reasons. One of the pictures had a break down of the costs of having to be up here for eight weeks and it went something like this...An eight week stay in the hospital $52,000, Hospital visits, meals, ect. $1,000, Giving birth to a full term healthy baby- PRICELESS!!! That is so true...It will definetly be worth the wait of a long hospital stay after my precious baby girl gets here healthy and beautiful.

The doctors are still watching my labs pretty closely. Things are slowly creeping up to a critcal point.. Blood pressure gets high pretty often if I am not laying in bed like I am suppose to. But I am trying to be a good little girl!! LOL Anyway, the bottom line is they are trying to buy whatever time they can for the baby. Everyday in the womb makes a difference.

My Mom and Sisters gave me and Tammie a baby shower here at the hospital for friends and family in the Dallas, Ennis, and Corsicana area. I recieved lots of great gifts and we had tons of fun!! Thank you to all who was there!!!

I want to give God the glory for a certain situation that happened in Troy and my life this past week. When Troy went to work on Monday, His company had a meeting and basically told them that the company was loosing money. They had to let several people go because of this. Troy was one of them. The very same day he was able to get his old job back at TISD. They had been trying to get him to come back to work for them for some time. Talk about God turning things around for the good!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

Well that is all the exciting events for this week!! Until Next week.

Precious Baby

Yes, that is little Mary Allison...it looks like she is peacfully sleeping. I couldn't believe we were able to get such a great picture!!!
So you ask what I've been doing this week...well let me see...I have been sleeping....sitting...sleeping again...sitting again...I think you get the picture:) LOL No really I do get bored but I also have alot of things to keep me busy. Everyday I go to group time(for 1 hour), the highlight of my day(I get to get out of bed!!!!), where all the mothers that are here long term get together and make things and learn how to do different things. Here are a few pictures of some things that I have made.......a little baby book and I knitted a dress, hat, and booties for Mary. I think the dress will be a little to small for her but hey maybe it will fit one of her dolls one day. I also spend some of my time doing crosswords, sudokus, and I love doing the puzzles from the brain boosters magazine that Kathy sent me. I also have plenty of books to read thanks to many family and friends who sent them along. I have a great view from my room window. Here is a picture of the Ferris Wheel at the Texas State Fair from the view from my room. When the sun rises and sets it is the prettiest. Well I quess maybe some of you are wondering if I am getting bigger. The answer is YES!!! LOL The bigger the baby the bigger the belly!! The sonogram on Thursday said that she is approximately 3 pounds 12 ounces. So she is growing everyday!! The doctor says that she is looking great. She is in the 46 percentile, which means that she is right at average length. So I guess she is not going to be tall like Troy or short like me, but average height. Someone asked why I don't update my blog more often and I said well there is not alot for me to write when I am just sitting around in bed for most of the time, so I will update my blog at least once a week. Thanks for checking up on me!! Till next time...

Sunday January 25

Well today is Sunday....This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!! This makes the 26th day I have been here at Baylor in Dallas. Things are pretty much the same, except the blood pressure keeps creeping up even though I am on blood pressure medicine and on strict bed rest. I am 30 weeks and 4 days along in the pregnancy today. Baby Mary Allison is doing great!! I can't wait until she gets here. Everyday that passes, my eagerness to see her gets greater!! Today I am by myself for a couple of hours. Troy left me early this morning to get to church in Tyler and my sister Rebekah will be coming later today after she gets out of church in Ennis, but this time has given me time to think about how blessed I am. I am blessed to have freinds and family that stay in touch and send so many thoughts and prayers my way through emails, cards, gifts, visits, texts....ect. I am so very thankful for my church family and my work family. Lots of Thank you, Thank you, Thank you's go out to my Kissam Family who sent a card full of cash and lots of other goodies on Friday!!! I am extra blessed to have such a great family. My mom and Dad and sisters and Bro-in-Laws have been sooooo very supportive. Always there when I need them. My Mom and my sister, Rebekah, has put up with me during the week when Troy can't be here. Believe me that can be a major task!! I am a horrible patient....mainly I quess because I'm not very patient..LOL!! Anyway....back to my many blessings..I am soooooo blessed to have the greatest husband in the world!!! Troy is my favorite person in all the world!!
As soon as I can get the cord to go from my camera to my computer, I will download some pictures to put on my blog. Hopefully I can figure out how to do that!! Well until next time...thank you for reading and caring to check up on me.
